Confession: I’m 60K deep in a new manuscript and pressing hard for the finish line. (Did you know I’m a novelist in the real world?) I really want to have the bulk of the narrative wrapped up (I’m guessing it’ll clock in at about 90K) before my husband and I take a research trip to British Columbia in May. Writing 1,500 words a day makes this an accessible goal, especially since I have a retreat scheduled in a couple of weeks—and with uninterrupted time and space to work it all out, I should be in great shape.
But. With my brains full of A Theory of Infinite Worlds (the working title of this 2025 release from Atria Books), I’m finding it increasingly difficult to turn my attention to Substack writing. So I guess I’m asking for some grace as I try to cross the finish line on my newest full-length offering. It’s such a special book, friends, and I canNOT wait to share it with you. It’s about astronomy and love and a missing husband… Think The Last Thing He Told Me meets A History of Wild Places. It’s smart domestic suspense and I’m crazy about it.
I do have some upcoming posts planned, including a book review, a reflection on an experience I had in Dubuque this past weekend (Dubuque is a fabulous little city, by the way), and an upcoming meet and greet, but for now I’m going to leave you with a little teaser trailer. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek into Sadie and Felix’s world. It’s where I’ve been spending the majority of my time these days. ;-)
Thanks so much for reading, friends! xoxo - Nicole
