Beautiful writing - almost. Your description of watching the Olympics and the American heros competing in Italy was moving. Why did you feel the need to kill the moment by mentioning ICE agents? Next time the urge to condemn our government attempting to enforce laws, note instead the dozens and dozens of people - mostly women and girls (please give their names) - raped and murdered by those ICE is charged with jailing. Oh, and no matter you sometimes feel like nothing more than a “middle aged, often harried mom,” you are and will always be the light of the world to your family and close friends. Write on.
So many good things can be taken out of this beautiful essay...but this is my favorite.
"We have the ability to bring light wherever we go—no
matter how small and flickering the flame."
Thank you. ❤️
Thank you, Jodi. My light feels pretty faint these days, but we'll take whatever sparks we can get! ;-)
Love Elena; love this essay.
She's remarkable, isn't she? I'm just in awe of her!
Enjoyed and recommend "Where He Left Me." by Nicole Baart
That's so kind! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
